The Move to the Common Core for ELAFor years states have done their own thing with regards to curriculum and instruction. Emphasis on Adequate Yearly Progress and the after-effects of No Child Left Behind (2001) have prompted a move by many states to the Common Core. This curriculum project has a goal of providing standards in English/Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies. Currently, ELA and Math are completed.
